As Edward Gurary noted, CCO of Cashmere Capital trading house, the market of water-soluble fertilizers in Mexico is developed and saturated. The largest international manufacturers of water-soluble fertilizers do business here. About ten companies are included in the pool of importers (who are also blenders of water-soluble NPK), which are the largest national distributors.
Exclusive supplier of Almaz Fertilizers products had meetings with them and noted the high interest in high quality water-soluble products.
“Several companies working with premium lines of water-soluble fertilizers have shown a special interest in DAP – an unconventional product for the Mexican market. At the moment, we only supply MAP to Mexico and only to one national distributor through an intermediary trader. There is a clear potential for increasing the number of products that we can sell to Mexico, as well as for cooperation with new distributors,” said Edward Gurary. “Importers requested product samples and prices. A complicating factor, as basically in all markets, is the strong presence in Mexico of Chinese products, often low-quality and cheap. It is encouraging that the country also imports high-quality products from the world’s best manufacturers — a niche in which we can compete”.
